Academics (comparative literature) and longtime married couple Seek Tarts, Trollops and Harlots to play integral supporting roles in a cinematic vignette long in the making. These two professors of comparative literature (director, lead actress) have combined their study of the story line with cinematography skills learned and honed on cooperative literature/film department student films with the intent of creating the next Behind the Green Door, widely considered the genre's Citizen Kane. The idea for the plot came while mentoring a graduate school thesis film, in which they also played minor parts in the film: a pair of college professors making a pornographic film. The overwhelmingly positive experience as well as viewer response to the film inspired them to produce the same in real life, and with a real-life cast, making the decision to open casting opportunities to all rather than limit them to undergraduate students an obvious one. The plot of Black Iris' Night Bloom in Violet takes place on an academic campus, a school for the sexually gifted and run by Iris Inamorata, a world-renown expert in the Sexual Arts, who has seen a disturbing trend among the senior students - a superior attitude which, except for those in the School of the Dominatrix, runs counter to the school's philosophy of cunnilingus. It's this hubris that threatens to keep the best among them from achieving their sexual apex and the cunnilingual ability to speak in tongues. As a Cunnilinguist herself Iris Inamorata is able to speak to whomever she goes down on directly through her tongue. Iris endeavors to impart upon the inginue an understanding of the art by teaching lessons in the language spoken only between the tongue and pussy, though only some can decipher the lesson within. Throughout the individually presented lessons each - to varying degrees - are able to translate and heed its lesson - that the art, both in giving AND receiving, must be shared to be understood, the prerequisite to fluency in the language.
